Welcome to our website and first blog post. In this post, we'll be sharing with you a bit about Vegan Original's goals and what we're all about. We'll also reveal what you can expect from our blog in the future.
Who are we?
Vegan Original is a small team of vegans trying to change the world. We believe that vegan slogan wear is more effective when it looks good. That's why most of our designs are minimalistic with stylish fonts and imagery. We do also have some more bold, complex designs, but we're always sure to only design clothing we would proudly wear ourselves.
Our mission is to help change the world through our vegan message wear by making it as easy as possible to find quality vegan apparel and accessories on our website. By wearing your beliefs on your clothing, you can help us to spread important messages of compassion and equality for all animals.
What makes our clothing vegan?
Finding truly vegan clothes can be difficult with so many companies simply failing to be transparent about their production processes, such as which dyes and inks have been used to design their clothes, and whether any animal products or animal testing have been used.
At Vegan Original, we use only PETA-approved clothing manufacturers who are also members of the Fair Wear Foundation. This ensures that all of our clothing fabrics are 100% vegan and ethically made. However, there are more steps to the process. To design our clothing, we use cruelty-free printing methods and vegan water-based inks. Water-based inks are far more eco-friendly than the standard plastisol inks, which are plastic-based and toxic.
Why 100% organic cotton?
We're proud to be one of the only online vegan stores providing 100% organic cotton clothing. That's right: all of our clothing is made from 100% organic cotton, not just a select few products.
Our reason for choosing organic cotton is because it uses less water and has much lower carbon emissions than standard cotton. It's also GMO-free and does not involve the use of fertilisers or pesticides, compared to conventional cotton. The fertilisers and pesticides in conventional cotton cause pollution and water contamination, threatening the health of farm workers and plant and animal life in the area.
